Acceptable Use of the Internet and Library Public Computers

Our library internet and computer policies
  • Computer use is limited to ONE hour except for adults doing research or job hunting.
  • Young people under 18 must sign in on the sheet provided at the Circulation Desk.
  • Staff will provide assistance as their time permits.
  • No more than TWO people at any computer workstation.
  • User is not to download or delete any software applications without staff permission.
  • Promptly report any problems to the library staff.
  • Cost for printing:  First five copies are free (provided by the Friends of Tekonsha Library.)  Additional copies are 10 cents each.
  • APPROPRIATE USE:  Computers shall not be used to access pronographic materials.
  • Any patron with overdue materials may not use the computers until the materials are returned and fines paid.
      • Disclaimer:  Because the Internet is a global electronic netowrk with no governing body, there isno control over its content or users.  Some of the resources on-line may contain material that is objectionable to some users.  Tekonsha Townshp Library cannot censor access to the material on the Internet, nor protect its users from all offensive information.  The Internet has the ability to change quickly and unpredictably.  Tekonsha Township Library has no control over the material found on the net and cannot guarantee that any of the information found on-line is accurate, current or complete.  Users need to independantly evaluate the information they find on the Internet.
      • Parents of minor children must assume responsibility for their children's use of the Internet.
