Your Library Card

Getting a card, renewing materials, placing holds, etc.

Who can get a card

Library cards will be issued to anyone living in Tekonsha or Clarendon Townships, Tekonsha Community Schools students and their families or persons employed by the Tekonsha Community Schools.  All others must pay an annual $20 fee.

How to Get Your Card
Adults and young people age 13 or above may obtain their library cards at the Circulation Desk.   Adults must show a driver's license or state issued ID with a correct address.

Children below the age of 13 may obtain their library card with a parent's permission.  Parents must meet adult registration guidelines.

Library cards expire at the end of three years. 

Borrowing Limits
Loan periods will be 3 weeks for all materials with the exception of new adult fiction which circulates for 2 weeks only. 

Adults age 18 or above may check out a limit of 12 books.  Young people in grades 5 through 12 are limited to 6 items and grade 4 and under are limited to 3 items.

Adult non-fiction is limited to three items per subject per patron. 

Placing Holds
You may request a hold on an item by contacting the Circulation Desk.   You cannot place a hold on new adult fiction.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Items may be renewed once for an additional three weeks, with the exception of new adult fiction, which cannot be renewed.  Also, any item with a hold placed by another patron may not be renewed.

Library Fines
There will be a grace period of one week after the due date before over fines will be charged.  New adult fiction does not have a grace period.  Fines will be charged at 10 cents per day, with a maximum fine of $3.00.  Borrowing privileges will be suspended when fines or fees reach $3.00.
