October 2011 Director's Message

What is happening this fall at the Tekonsha Township Library?

If you have been in the library recently you will know that we now have WiFi!!!  This is exciting as it enables patrons to use their own laptops with the library's broadband connection.  You may also update your e-readers and other wireless devices.  You may also utilize our WiFi network outside library hours in our parking lot.

As we've been promising for months, new computers will be online within the next few weeks.  This will expand our public computers to eleven units.  We will also have color printing available soon.  Shortly, we will also be updating our older computers to Windows 7 and Office 2010 Professional.

With summer vacations a thing of the past and cooler weather approaching, think about joining us for our adult book club.  In October we are reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.  Cells from Mrs. Lacks have survived since her death in 1951 and Ms Skloot writes her story and its implications in this book of medical journalism.

Our Movie Night is still the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM.  The movies shown are usually recent.

Our After-School movies will be scheduled soon and will appear on our calendar.

Pre-School story time will be the fourth Monday of the month at 9:30 AM except November and December.
