January Director's Message

Library happenings in January

Last week, as I worked at the Circulation Desk, I could see large snowflakes drifting down onto the school playground just outside our back window.  What a lovely sight -- especially because I was inside the warm, cozy library!

That made me think how much fun it is to curl up with a cozy mystery or a great biography during these cold winter months.  We can recommend several great reads!  Which reminds me of a new addition to our library:  our "I Recommend This Book" message board.  If you've read a book you especially like, please introduce it to our other patrons!

Our Book Club is reading Mama Flora's Family by Alex Haley & David Stevens this month.  We will be meeting at the library on Monday, February 21st at 4:00 PM.  Please pick up a copy of the book at the library and plan on joining us in this very informal discussion group!  Be sure to check our calendar for other events.

Look for library changes in the Spring!  We will be adding computer stations and WiFi, as well as expanding our library hours.  We will be sure to keep you posted on our progress.

And if the cold Michigan winter gets you down, think Spring!  (And be sure to visit your library for something to read!)
